My first experience with a particular group I recently joined was terrible. I submitted one image, fought to high heaven to educate the "staff" during the accept/decline process, only to have them disregard the information i was giving them and continue to decline the image based on their ill-informed assumption. It was ridiculous. Instead of coming to me to ask whether my portrait was shot in natural light (the object of the group), or visit my gallery to learn that I ONLY shoot outdoors, they simply assumed it was indoors and declined it. My guess is, they assumed it was indoors because they couldn't replicate it if they tried. Any amount of actual photographic knowledge would have indicated it was shot outdoors - there was no way to replicate that light with anything other than the sun.
I informed them of such after it was declined the first time, and they STILL declined the image when I submitted it again, claiming that it wasn't shot outdoors. Really? I think as the photographer, I would know whether it was or was not shot outdoors and the fact that you continue to claim otherwise, is, in fact, calling me a liar. Do you treat all of your members in such a disrespectful manner? If so, the type of encounter that *I* had with you will be one of many from your members and your group will probably go under just as so many others have. Good luck with that
So, in case you want to avoid the hassle of dealing with this group or would simply like to be aware that you may receive similar treatment from this group, I'll share it's name. NaturalPortraitLove And if you're already a member of this group or do not heed my warning, I simply hope you DON'T have to deal with similar issues and wish you luck too

Purple Awareness
As I share these photos from my latest session, I thought I would explain the significance with you all. This shoot was done in honor and awareness for 2 conditions that affect our families (mine and my models) for which purple is the awareness color.
I wear purple in honor, awareness, and support for Pancreatic Cancer which has affected my great-grandmother and both her sons, my great-uncles. One of those uncle's is currently in a fight against it as I post this. And my model, Connie, wears purple in honor, awareness, and support for her father who was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.
Because of the significance this session
Not that it's any of your business, but...
As nice as it might be, I don't get paid to sit on DA and accept or decline group submissions. I find it sad that I must inform people of such and inform them that I have a life that doesn't revolve around this site. I'm a professional photographer, I own my own business, I don't have time to waste hours on end here. That said, I do visit every couple of days and I check in on my group (accept some, decline some, read notes etc) but I haven't been able to do so in the last 2 weeks and here is why...
Not that it's any of your business but...my uncle was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer 2 weeks ago and has been in the ICU ever since. N
Nikon D7000 and D800 owners - recall
https://www.nikonusa.com/Service-And-Support/Service-Advisories/h0ndzaip/EN-EL15-Battery-Recall-Service-Advisory.html
Nikon has issued a notice regarding the battery packs for the Nikon D7000, D800, and D800E SLRs. This recall is for specific batch numbers only. To determine if your battery pack is affected by this recall, simply look for the 14 digit lot number on the back of the pack. If the 9th digit is either an "E" or an "F", you are affected by this recall. The batteries were sold between March 2012 and present, and are reportedly causing short circuiting.
You May Have Noticed...
Some of my images have been stored or removed from DA. I wasn't originally going to explain the reasoning behind this, but I have since decided that it needs to be shared (for personal reasons). Some of my favorite children's portraits, along with my most recent engagement session are the images in question and are no longer available for viewing. Why?
A lack of written agreement, that's why! I didn't think I'd need one, after all, we'd been friends for 11 years. BLAH BLAH BLAH! I don't care if you're shooting personal work with a friend. I don't care how much you deny that your friend could ever turn on you. Get everything in WRITING! Trust

I've noticed one or two groups set up categories and then complain bitterly to their members : "Quite a number of people are placing their submissions in the wrong folders. These will be declined. " etc etc. etc.
Hell if they're going to create folders marked "Elephants"; "Landscapes " and "Waterscapes and I submit a photo which combines elephants, landscape and waterscape in equal proportions without a definite emphasis because real life is like that .... and they reject it from one or all of the folders. ....then more fool them. Perhaps they would be more suited to having a market stall selling cans of definite articles like peas, beans and onions, though not sure they would be able to handle a can marked "Mixed veg."
